SA State Sales Manager Australian Sports Brand based in Adelaide

Job description

This role works as part of the wider national sales team, taking the lead in management of sales. The purpose of the role is to plan and implement sales and marketing activities in order to meet company targets for retention growth and profitability, and to contribute to the effective management of the department in order to meet sales targets defined by the Management team.

You will be a highly engaged and positive team player, with high degree of customer focus to harness the ability to target and manage the defined State strategically, while operating within an assigned target framework.

State Sales Management

  • Manage the delivery of sales through your defined State / Territory. Manage a team of Account Managers within your defined territory to ensure achievement of business objectives
  • With your Manager, formulate strong and commercial viable strategic plans to grow the Company/Brand
  • In conjunction with your Manager, set annual sales budgets. Proactively set plans to meet or exceed these annual targets with your team, with clear budget KPIs on a monthly level. Pro-actively work to rectify variances to these targets
  • Independently work to identify new sales and commercial opportunities. With your team, contact potential clients to assess their individual needs and demonstrate how our client’s products can meet or exceed these needs
  • Ensure accurate up-to-date customer information is maintained
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
  • Ensure your sales team follows credit procedures and clients remain within credit terms at all times
  • Professionally represent our client at events and functions
  • Assist your team with escalated client issues, ensuring risk management strategies are in place
  • Maintain business knowledge on trends in existing and new target markets as well as the performance of competitors


  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a sales environment role.
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian sports market
  • Sales management experience
  • Full Drivers’ license
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including presentations and the ability to interact positively with all levels
  • Sound commercial awareness with strong sales negotiation skills, focussing on positive business solutions
  • Resilience

Please note:

  • Regular periods of travel will be required, including interstate
  • Hours of work will vary according to the requirements of the role
